Our customized internship program will give you the unique opportunity to begin to explore and cultivate your future career through a high-quality internship experience abroad. Our internship program is comprehensive and includes all of the key services and support to enhance your experience. We will help you through every step of the process from the application stage to your return home. Your first step toward this once in a lifetime opportunity is to complete an application.

API international internships provide unique opportunities for participants to explore and cultivate their future career path through a high-quality, customized, credit-bearing placement in several exciting fields and destinations. API internship programs encompass a number of career development and cultural resources to help participants maximize their personal and professional development.
Depending on the placement area requested, preferred country, holidays, and availability, you may need to be flexible with your program start date and program length.
English-speaking placements are possible, but opportunities may be limited.

Health Research Internship
This internship takes place at a graduate college dedicated to research, training, and extension programs in several fields of social sciences. The intern will work on a project that aims to analyze regional public health policies. The intern may assist the project leader in research activities, help organize an international conference, and assist with translating project documents and papers.NGO InternshipThis internship takes place at an NGO specializing in policy-oriented research in Argentina and Latin America. Internship duties include developing proposals and building strategies with partners in order to influence government policy.
This internship is at a young high tech startup that offers integrated solutions to manufacturing value chains. Their focus is on providing customized solutions to manufacturing firms based in three main technological pillars: robotics, artificial vision, and advanced manufacturing. Interns may participate in the development process of a new AGV (Automatic Guided Robot) for an automobile company, or they may use SolidWorks software to design structures and metallic pieces for a project with multinational corporations. The intern is expected to show a strong willingness to learn and be ready to share knowledge and insights in brainstorming sessions.
Social Services Internship
This internship is at an NGO that develops social programs for helping needy residents (particularly women and children). It provides food, housing, educational and artistic activities. The intern may help participate in workshops about domestic violence, women’s empowerment, or fine art workshops pertaining to theater and literature.
Accounting and finance internships abroad are a great way to gain valuable work experience in an international setting and are available in all of our destinations. There is a wide range of opportunities working with companies and organization of all sizes. Example intern duties might include accounting, accounts receivable/payable, financial analysis, auditing, tax preparation, financial reporting, administrative, and research.

Those seeking careers in advertising, communications, and journalism are well suited for global work experience. Many advertising companies work with global clients and journalism often is international in scope. Having a global perspective in these fields is an asset, so stand out with an international internship experience! Example intern duties might include client relationships, copywriting, editing, writing, creative, event management, social media management, website content development, branding, press releases, filming, and communication strategy.
Want to be inspired for your future career with an architecture, landscaping or planning internship? Whether it is seeing Gaudi’s work in Barcelona or the neoclassical architecture in Santiago, learning about urban planning projects in London or walking through the landscape architecture in the Grand Canal Square in the Dublin Docklands, you will be able to bring these concepts back with you into your future profession. Example intern duties might include project conception, design, and management, meeting with clients, honing technical skills with AutoCAD, budgeting, construction, and administration.
In a world where borders are increasingly fluid, it is imperative that business leaders of the future recognize how to navigate global challenges through cultural understanding, market knowledge, and cross-cultural communication skills. Because many companies have international operations or clients overseas, global skills and experience are often a prerequisite. Real world international work experience such as an international business, entrepreneurship, or management internship can also open up employment opportunities in a competitive job market. Example intern duties might include administration, developing a marketing strategy, creating proposals, budgeting, analyzing data, client relationship management, research, and presentations.
Bringing global awareness and understanding into the classroom can add to the educational experience that you offer future students. That is why more and more teaching students look to complete part of their qualifying practicums abroad through an education internship. There are many international schools abroad that will host interns in their classroom or administrative offices. Example intern duties might include lesson planning, one-on-one tutoring, teaching, classroom management, meetings, and administrative support to the supervising teacher.
Teaching and education related applicants may need to be flexible with destination and program dates as school academic calendars abroad vary greatly by location. Most destinations in the northern hemisphere have a similar calendar and experience extended summer breaks during May, June, July, and August making placements limited during this time. The Southern Hemisphere locations are a great alternative during this time of year as this is their winter months.

What better way to prepare for your future career than participating in an international internship with a hotel, spa, resort, or restaurant in one of the world’s key international travel destinations? Example intern duties might include creating tour packages, developing marketing, strategy, hotel management, client services, sales, cooking, event planning, vendor relations, activity coordination, food and beverage management, catering and administration.
Participating in a law internship abroad can be a wonderful way to learn about the legal system in another country, advocate for rights for a certain cause or group of people, and add value to your resume! Example intern duties might include legal research, attending court sessions, reviewing court cases, meeting with clients, preparing court and legal documents, and administration.

Example intern duties might include advocating for social justice issues, assisting with community development, educating on healthcare access, planning and facilitating fundraising events, and administration.
Have a passion for sports? There are sports related internship opportunities to meet a wide variety of majors that will offer a high-quality learning experience abroad. Imagine interning with a soccer or rugby league, helping plan a sporting event, assist with corporate ticket sales, or gain experience in sports journalism writing for a local newspaper. Those are just a few of the areas that are feasible for an internship in this area. Example intern duties might include developing a marketing strategy, ticket sales, training athletes, promotional activities, event planning and management, writing, editing, coaching, and administration.

Our internship program includes safe and secure housing in the cost of the program fee. Housing types and amenities will vary by location. Participants in Buenos Aires will have the option of living with a host family or in a double share bedroom in a furnished apartment.
Internship participants should expect the accommodation to be centrally located and easily accessible to public transportation. Each participant’s commute will vary, as internship placements are located in different areas in each location. Average commute times range from 30 minutes up to an hour. Housing placements may be mixed gender (by apartment, not by bedroom). Participants will receive their confirmed housing assignment approximately three weeks prior to departure.
