API students participate excursions designed to help familiarize them with the culture and surrounding areas of their host city and country. The following is a listing of potential excursions for API Barcelona programs. API may need to modify the excursions offered in a given term due to travel restrictions or health and safety concerns.

  • Costa Daurada

With almost 60 miles of golden sandy beaches, la Costa Daurada stretches from the north of Tarragona to the Ebro delta. Tarragona’s biggest lure is the wealth of ruins in Spain’s second most important Roman site, including mosaic-packed museums and a seaside amphitheater. Les Cases d’Alcanar or Sant Carles de la Ràpita conjure up a mix of Mediterranean essences. The towns alternate between flat alluvial land and craggy coast depict the terrain; between mud and rocks; olive trees and rice fields; marl rocky banks and lagoons.

  • Costa Brava

Costa Brava is a coastal area in the northeast of Barcelona. This area is famous for its cliffs and rocky beaches. Students will visit a village on the seafront and after that students will be able to participate in an adventurous sea activity such as kayaking.

  • Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park

Cadí-Moixeró is a high-mountain natural park that stands between valleys situated 900 m above sea level and has peaks that are more than 2,500 m high. This site of great beauty is also a biodiversity hotspot where you can enjoy activities and sports in the heart of nature. Charming little villages abound in the area and hearty, local food is guaranteed.
