Facilitate classes to primary and secondary public school students or young adults in vocational schools.

Courses

PLACEMENT INFORMATION

Co-teach English in a primary or secondary school or vocational center. You will be assisting a local English teacher 20 hours per week, plus 5 hours on related tasks.

Participants in San José live with local host families. Host families serve as a unique introduction into Costa Rican culture and may be a married couple with children, a divorced or widowed woman with or without children still at home, or a family with some members living at home and others living outside of the city during the work week. Participants may be housed with other API or international students, and in all cases will have an individual room. Participants are provided with two meals per day, as well as laundry service once per week.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We recommend you apply at least 8-12 weeks before your program start to have sufficient time to get your placement and make your plans.

The prices below are for the 1-month option. Each additional month incurs a $1,320 charge per month.
