Collaborate, support, observe and learn by volunteering in Argentina. A common mission of API volunteer projects is to expand opportunities, improve the quality of life of local members of the community and brighten the future of this Earth we collectively call home. Volunteer in areas of NGO Administration, NGO development, Child Care, Youth/Community Empowerment, Construction/Maintenance, Medical/Health/Nutrition, Social Justice, Teaching/Tutoring and more.

NOTE: Ask your Program Manager about adding Spanish lessons to your program for an additional fee!

Courses

Volunteer - Youth Development Through Sport

(Location: BA; 2-week minimum; accommodation and meals included) Work closely with NGOs and local clubs who believe that sports can be used as a tool for holistic development to connect youth by supporting the development of key life-skills such as leadership, communication, and teamwork, as well as building confidence and self-esteem. Participate in structured sports sessions including football, rugby, tennis, baseball, netball, and basketball.

Volunteer - Food Bank

(Location: BA or Munro; 2-week minimum; accommodation and meals included) Take part local actions to combat hunger issues in Buenos Aires and the surrounding area, through multiple far-reaching avenues of innovation; work with your hands in the warehouse, experience the administrative side to nonprofit goal-reaching strategies, or learn about the role of education as the main solution.

Volunteer - Social Work

(Location: BA; 2-week minimum; accommodation and meals included) Contributing to the individual support of people at all stages of life so that everyone is able to grow, live and age with dignity, through work with a local foundation who addresses long-term solutions to emerging social challenges within the community. Role: work with children, elderly, disabled, non-formal educational centers, schools, mothers, people at risk of exclusion, psychological care for families Depending on the volunteer's skills, interests and level of Spanish, you could participate in a variety of activities ranging from support groups, institutional relations, emotional accompaniment, events support, communication, training, administration, or various workshops

Volunteer - Health Clinic

(Location: BA; 2-week minimum; accommodation and meals included) For those who have an interest or background in health and human services, gain a better understanding of international health systems and its practices while acting as an agent of support to hospital staff and long-term patients in one of a dozen different clinical centers.

Volunteer - NGO Administration

(Location: BA; 2-week minimum; accommodation and meals included) Gain valuable experience in various facets of strategic planning and implementation of a local organization in Buenos Aires. Collaborate in areas of communication, fundraising, campaigning, research, and more. Note: Volunteer activities are not limited to the above listed. Placements are customized to meet both community needs and your goals, skills/background. As such, you and your Program Manager will work together to find a placement right for you and the community. Faculty

In Buenos Aires, participants live with local host families. Host families serve as a unique introduction into the Argentine culture and may be made up of a retirement-age couple, a single woman with or without children, or a traditional two-parent household. Participants are provided with two meals per day (except on weekends), as well as laundry service once per week.

Our host partners work with API to individualize start dates throughout the year, for this reason, applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We recommend you apply at least 8 weeks before your program start to have sufficient time to get your placement and make your plans. Specified dates are group enrollment dates. Please contact your Program Coordinator to customize a start date.

Prices below are for the 2-week program. Each additional week incurs a $450 charge per week.
