If you could study abroad again, what would you do differently?
Studying abroad for such a short period of time, just one six-week summer term, meant that myself and everyone else in my API group were trying to do and see as many things in our beautiful host country as possible. While I did see an impressive number of things in those six weeks and had an overall wonderful time, I do have a few regrets from my time abroad.
The most important being the courses that I chose to take. Now, this seems contradictory, to criticize my choice in courses when it’s called Study Abroad. While it is important to maintain your studiousness while abroad, I chose to take two upper-level courses that would contribute to my major in Mathematics. Taking two difficult fifteen week courses in five weeks is doable, but not necessarily enjoyable or preferable when you’re also trying to see the world around you in the short time span that you have in your host country. For this reason, if I could do it all over again, I would have only taken one of those classes, or chosen a less intensive second course.
But, in the end, I am still incredibly happy that I was able to see as much of lovely Italy as I did. Here are some photos of my experience in Rome!
