Dublin- In Photos

February 21, 2017

This post comes from student blogger Kristin Anderson from the University of Alabama, a Film Major currently studying in Dublin, Ireland

Throughout my time as a student blogger for API, you will come to find that I love photography. I feel that it is the best way to convey my experience in Dublin. A picture is worth a thousand words, right?

I have been in Ireland for almost five weeks and have collected some photos that sum up how much fun I’m having. From day trips out to Howth, Ireland to a weekend in the heart of London I have been lucky to see and do so much.

In the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport getting ready to board my plane. Shortly after this photo was taken my parents and I hugged (but mostly cried) and then I was off!

Exploring my new campus was the first thing on my to do list and there was no shortage of picturesque places. (I’ll keep y’all posted on the meaning behind the spinning globe)

Seriously, what??!! I get to go school at Hogwarts (aka, Trinity College) but they’re basically the same thing.

Ireland is generally pretty dreary so when the sun came out in Kilkenny I was so excited I had to document it. Then got a sunburn...

St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral in Cork, Ireland was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Seriously who knew that Neo-Gothic architecture could be so fun?

Keeping on topic with awesome cathedrals, this was the first thing I found when exploring the streets of London. St. Paul’s Cathedral was as massive as it was beautiful. I even got to go to Sunday Church here.

I took this photo of my friend Rachel in front of St. Paul’s and it is one of my favorite shots so far. The lighting allowed me to take a haunting photo yet still give justice to the beautiful architecture of the cathedral.

I’m starting to understand the whole obsession with afternoon tea. It’s definitely a tradition I will take back with me to the states. Except for the whole milk in tea thing, I still don’t get that.

Taken right outside of the (massive) British Museum. London sure does know how to make beautiful buildings.
