Course options
This program is a great option for students interested in Business or Marketing. Along with a Spanish class, there are course options in International Business, Entrepreneurship, Human Resource Management and International Finance.
Variety of housing options
With three different options for housing in Barcelona, students can find the perfect fit for their stay in Spain! Host families provide a great way for students to more fully immerse themselves in Barcelona’s culture. It’s also a great way to feel “at home” while away from home! Other housing options include a student apartment or student dormitory. API apartments in Barcelona generally have 2-4 bedrooms (the majority of which are double-rooms) with a shared kitchen, common area, and bathrooms.
Students who would prefer apartment-style living alongside other Spanish and American students would enjoy API’s dorm/residence hall option. The student dorm has both single and double-room options, with a shared kitchen and private bathroom. Internet access is guaranteed in all rooms. Please note this option carries an additional fee!
International excursion included in your program cost!
API strives to create affordable programs while providing a high quality experience for students. Included in this program fee is an international excursion to Lisbon, Portugal! An impressive Gothic cathedral, the Hieronymites Monastery, St. George’s Castle and Torre de Belém are all part of the colorful cityscape. Another side of Lisbon is discovered wandering around the narrow lanes of Alfama, Rossio and Barrio Alto Quarters, and taking in the sounds and rhythm of the city. One experiences a step back in time through visits to the cultural sites in Lisbon, while also gaining an impression of the differences between Portugal and Spain.
In addition to visiting Portugal, you’ll also get to see beautiful cities and sights across Spain! Our on-site staff will take you to Seville, El Penedès, Girona & Besalú!
Cooking classes and other cultural activities
There is so much to do in Barcelona! API staff will make sure you get the full experience of all the city has to offer by hosting cooking classes, winery tours, dance classes and more.
