Terms and Conditions for the API Spring 2027 Promotion:
Bring a Friend
Official Terms and Conditions
Academic Programs International, LLC (“API”)
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern participation in the Bring a Friend Spring 2027 discount promotion (the “Promotion”). By submitting a referral or accepting a discount under this Promotion, the applicant (“Participant”) agrees to be bound by these Terms. API reserves the right to interpret and enforce these Terms at its sole discretion.
1. Eligibility
1.1. The Promotion is open only to students who submit and maintain a complete, active application to an eligible API Spring 2027 program, as listed on the API program finder at the time of application.
1.2. Both the Participant and each referred friend (“Referred Student”) must independently: a. Apply to the same program and term through their own individual API account; b. Meet all admission, academic, and program-specific eligibility requirements for that program; c. Be accepted into the program; and d. Complete enrollment, including any required deposit and enrollment confirmation steps, by the applicable program deadline.
1.3. A Referred Student who applies to a different program, term, or session than the Participant does not qualify, regardless of any personal or academic connection between the two students.
1.4. Self-referrals, referrals of individuals who do not exist as bona fide independent applicants, or referrals submitted using false, incomplete, or duplicated names/contact information are not valid and will be rejected.
2. How the Discount Is Earned and Verified
2.1. Listing a friend’s name on the Bring a Friend form does not, by itself, entitle the Participant or the Referred Student to any discount. The discount is contingent upon independent verification by API that: a. The Referred Student submitted their own application referencing the Participant (or the Participant referencing them) prior to the applicable deadline; b. The Referred Student has been accepted and has completed enrollment in the same qualifying program/term; and c. All eligibility requirements in Section 1 are satisfied.
2.2. API will apply the discount to a Participant’s account only after this verification is complete. Discounts are not automatically triggered by form submission, and API is under no obligation to apply a discount based solely on a Participant’s or Referred Student’s self-reported claim.
2.3. API reserves the right to request additional documentation or confirmation from either party to verify a referral claim, and to deny or reverse a discount where such verification cannot reasonably be completed.
2.4. In the event of a discrepancy between a Participant’s claimed referrals and API’s own enrollment records, API’s records shall control.
3. Discount Structure and Caps
3.1. A Participant may earn a discount of $200 per verified Referred Student, up to a combined maximum of $1,000 (i.e., a maximum of 5 verified referrals) per Participant, per Promotion period.
3.2. Each verified Referred Student receives a one-time $200 discount off their own program, regardless of how many friends they, in turn, refer or are referred by.
3.3. Discounts under this Promotion: a. Have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash, credit, or transfer to another person or program; b. Are not retroactive to applications, deposits, or payments made prior to the Promotion period; c. Cannot be combined with any other referral-based or “bring a friend” style discount for the same enrollment; and d. May be combined with need-based financial aid or scholarships only where API’s scholarship terms expressly permit stacking, at API’s sole discretion.
3.4. If a Participant or Referred Student withdraws, defers, cancels, or is withdrawn from the program for any reason (including but not limited to failure to meet academic, conduct, health, safety, or visa requirements) after a discount has been applied, API reserves the right to reverse, offset, or invoice for the discounted amount.
4. False, Fraudulent, or Unsubstantiated Claims
4.1. Participants and Referred Students represent and warrant that all information submitted in connection with this Promotion — including names, relationships, and program selections — is true, accurate, and submitted in good faith.
4.2. API reserves the right, at its sole discretion and without prior notice, to investigate, deny, withhold, reverse, or claw back any discount where API reasonably believes: a. A referral was fabricated, duplicated, or submitted for a person who did not independently apply; b. Information was falsified or materially misrepresented to obtain a discount; c. The Promotion is being used to circumvent program eligibility, pricing, or enrollment policies; or d. Any other attempt has been made to manipulate, exploit, or abuse the Promotion (including but not limited to coordinated fake referrals, referral “chains” involving non-applicants, or resale/transfer of referral credit).
4.3. Any discount obtained through false, fraudulent, or unsubstantiated claims may be reversed or charged back to the responsible party’s account at any time, including after enrollment, travel, or program completion, and even if the discount was initially applied in error by API.
4.4. API is not responsible for verifying claims made by a Participant or Referred Student to one another (e.g., informal promises about discount amounts, eligibility, or program equivalency) outside of what is confirmed in writing by API directly.
4.5. Nothing in this Promotion, and no communication regarding it, constitutes a guarantee of admission, enrollment, or program availability.
5. Program and Promotion Changes
5.1. The Promotion applies only to program applications submitted and enrolled within the stated Spring 2027 promotional window and only to programs designated as eligible at the time of application. Eligible programs are subject to change without notice, including due to program cancellation, minimum enrollment not being met, or capacity limits.
5.2. API reserves the right to modify, suspend, extend, or terminate this Promotion, or these Terms, at any time and for any reason, including if API determines the Promotion is being abused or is administratively unworkable. Changes will not retroactively revoke discounts already verified and confirmed in writing by API prior to the change.
5.3. This Promotion is separate from, and does not modify, API’s standard enrollment agreement, cancellation policy, refund policy, or program terms, all of which continue to apply in full.
6. Limitation of Liability
6.1. API’s sole responsibility under this Promotion is the application of verified discounts as described above. API is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential claims arising from a denied, delayed, or reversed discount, including claims based on a Participant’s expectations of a discount that was not independently verified under Section 2.
6.2. Any dispute regarding eligibility, verification, or discount amount should be submitted in writing to API’s admissions/enrollment team, and API’s written determination shall be final.
7. General
7.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Academic Programs International, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
7.2. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
7.3. These Terms, together with API’s standard program terms and enrollment agreement, constitute the entire agreement between the Participant and API with respect to this Promotion.
By submitting the Bring a Friend form and/or accepting a discount under this Promotion, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
