API Program Spotlight – Teach Abroad in Costa Rica!

Teach in Costa Rica! Start as early as October 15thThe opportunity to teach English abroad is priceless, and this morning we’ve got an amazing opportunity to tell you about! API is currently offering TEFL/ESL Certified English Teachers fully-funded volunteer positions in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican government sponsors these positions. Teachers start out by committing to 30-hours per week for four months, but there are opportunities to extend! 

Teacher Qualifications

  • 21-50 years old
  • Native English speaker
  • University degree, preferably in Education or ESL/TESOL
  • TEFL, CELTA degree or equivalent
  • Teaching experience (6 months OR any experience with non-native English speakers)
  • Experience volunteering in your local community or abroad
  • A clean & current criminal background check
  • A basic level of Spanish (more preferred)
  • Commitment to at least 4 months in Costa Rica
  • Patience, strong organizational skills, technologically savvy (have your own laptop)
  • The desire to strongly impact the lives of young, at-risk Costa Rican young adults

2018-2019 Start Dates

Our first batch of teachers have already started their adventure, but there’s still several other dates you can join in on!

-October 15th, 2018 – Feburary 1st, 2019 (includes 2-week vacation)

-January 6th, 2019 – May 3rd, 2019 (includes Spring Break)

-January 27th, 2019 – May 31st, 2019 (includes Spring Break)
