Studying abroad is not just for college students (although we have plenty of those programs, too)! Today we’re spotlighting an amazing API summer program open to high school students interested in art and design. This course, at the prestigious Parsons Paris, offers college credit and unforgettable experiences in beautiful France.
Art & Design Pre-College Summer Program
Parsons Paris is a world-renowned art and design school. It also boasts some of the top U.S. and international accreditations (including NASAD and Middle States). Because of this, our Art & Design Pre-College Summer Program is a perfect fit for high school students wanting to get a head start on an education and career in art & design.
API offers two summer tracks for students. Both options allow students to choose one course for 3 U.S. college credits. The summer 1 track kicks off in early June and is tailored for fashion students, because it offers courses in Business of Fashion, Fashion Communications & Fashion Design Process.
Summer 2 starts in late June. Courses offered include Explorations in Drawing, Photography, Graphic Design Workshop, as well as Intro to Design and Management.
Explore beautiful design & architecture in Paris
Because of Paris’ unique history and architecture, students have the opportunity to see art & design in action in one of the world’s most beautiful cities! Our API Resident Directors will take students on excursions throughout the city. Tour the beautiful château de Chambord and the Chambord Forest (where Leonardo da Vinci used to wander!). Visit the world-famous Louvre and see art dating back thousands of years. See a ballet or theater performance. There are so many ways to immerse yourself in Paris’ beautiful culture!
Accommodations
Students stay at a nice hotel about 20 minutes from the Parsons Paris – The New School campus. Also included is a metro pass, allowing students to easily commute to campus. Although meals are not part of this package, the hotel offers a continental breakfast. In addition, our Resident Director is happy to help students find grocery stores and restaurants within all budgets. Students will have ample opportunity to sample all kinds of French foods!
