Andi Fuerst, UW-Platteville student studying abroad in Grenoble, France

Bonjour API Followers!

I am Andi, a student studying through API’s Intensive Language studies at Grenoble, France. I currently leave in 2 days and am extremely excited.

I look forward to honing my skills with the French language and meeting people of another culture. I hope to become more self-aware and learn more about myself. Finally, I wish to step outside of my comfort zone and gain a new perspective.

My first few days will be spent doing all the ‘touristy’ things of Paris. After that, my classes begin. I will be staying with a host family. I plan on going on as many of the excursions as possible and experiencing the local culture as well.

I hope you all will join me on this adventure.

À bientôt!

Natalie Borton, studying abroad in Florence

The time has come! I’m about to set sail for my dream adventure! For June 2019 I will experience all Florence has to offer!

Why do you travel?

I travel to learn, to meet new people, to experience other cultures, to know myself, to have adventures and to challenge myself.

Vivere: to live (Italian)

I’ll be partnering with the API Summer 2019 Student Blogger Program to update on the life of an abroad student! I’ll be posting about the pre-departure anticipation and everything in between.

This unique experience has been one in the making for me; for years I’ve saved up for this. I’ve counted down the days and found myself restless from that anticipation.

Some goals for my abroad experience not only include embracing a foreign culture but truly understanding the meaning of “living in the moment”. I feel like we always talk about “being in the moment”, but to truly understand the euphoria is something that I look forward too. I hope to photographs the moments as well.

API has made my pre-departure experience easy and they prepared me for the new culture immersion!

I can’t wait for this journey, so be sure to stay up-to-date!

-Nat
