Giving Tuesday 2017!

November 28, 2017

Today is #GivingTuesday! Our mission at API is to transform lives by providing enriching academic and cross-cultural experiences that foster increased self-knowledge, cultural sensitivity, and understanding of the global nature of our contemporary world. With this in mind, how will you give back on this international day of giving? To your communities, both near and far?

If you can’t donate today, consider asking your family to donate to your favorite organization in place of a holiday gift, or look into volunteering in your home community over the holiday season! There are loads of opportunities to lend a hand, whether it be at your local food bank, homeless shelter, or any one of a number of other locations. If you’re not sure where to find opportunities, check with service organizations on your campus or in your community, or look for events and listings posted on a website like http://www.idealist.org/

If you’re feeling truly inspired and want to combine your community action with international travel, consider planning an international volunteer experience in 2018! You can see our full portfolio of locations and placement areas here: https://www.apistudyabroad.com/experiential-programs/volunteer/

You can also read about how our study abroad students in Havana recently participated in an API Gives Back initiative here: https://blog.apiabroad.com/on-site/api-gives-back-havana/

However you choose to participate, we encourage you all to be “Everyday Givers”!
