For our London location, we have Alicia O’Brien. She let us know it was difficult to pick just one memory, but there was an experience that stood out…
“One of my favorite memories while I was in London was when we visited Shakespeare’s Globe, an open-air theater, with API. I remembered learning about the Globe while I was in High School. I never thought that one day I would be there in person watching a performance there! We saw “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” which was such a fun, unforgettable play. It was so cool to be able to sit out, enjoying the experience, and reliving what it might have been like to watch plays in Shakespeare’s Time.”

Meet Emily Link, a student who went abroad with API in Ireland! She shared her experience traveling to Dublin:
“In the fall of 2019, I spent a semester fully engrossed in the culture of Ireland as I studied at Maynooth University through API. While abroad, I visited several other countries including Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands, and explored the beautiful coasts and inland parks of Ireland. I lived in an on-campus apartment which gave me the opportunity to enjoy the complete Irish university student experience while I continued to work on my degree in accounting. This once-in-a-lifetime experience gave me a new appreciation for different cultures, a newfound love for traveling, and countless memories that I will forever cherish.”

Allow us to introduce API Alumni, Grace Lyon!
“I’m a student at the University of Kentucky. I studied abroad in Rome, Italy, last spring; it was truly the best experience of my life. During my time abroad, I visited 16 countries! I had the opportunity to make incredible lifelong memories and friends that I will cherish forever.
One of my favorite memories from my time abroad was having weekly dinner nights with the other students in my program (most weeks we hosted taco nights!). At the end of my program, I left a piece of my heart in Rome and returned home with an entirely new appreciation for the world. A piece of advice for anyone traveling abroad… take in every moment. Your journey will be over in the blink of an eye, so take advantage of each day and every opportunity!”
