Great news for art & design students! API offers a fantastic Art & Design Program at Universidad Veritas in San José, Costa Rica. You now have until October 20th to finish applying for one of API’s “hidden gem” programs. Let’s dive in to see more of what’s included.
Study art & design alongside local Costa Rican students
This program is a fantastic option for advanced Spanish speakers. Courses are integrated with local students in the areas of advertising design, architecture, digital animation, interior design, photography and product design. In addition, students can take an elective Spanish course! However, this program is meant only for students who already have a high level of Spanish under their belts. If you’re not sure where you fall, don’t worry! API provides an online Spanish written placement test prior to departure.
Some examples of course options you can choose from: Artistic Literature, Basic Principles of Acting, History of Architecture, Environmental Design and more.
Live with a host family
API works with amazing families in the San José area! Our host families provide two meals per day, as well as laundry service once per week. Our alumni have said that living with a host family was the highlight of their program. Students are given the ability to live in more of a “family home” situation, being placed with married couples (some with or without children) or divorced or widowed women aka our “host mama’s.” You may be housed with other API or international students; however all students are provided an individual room.
Amazing excursions included in your program cost
From Arenal Volcano National Park in central Costa Rica to the white-sand beaches and lagoons in Bocas Del Toro, you’ll see far more of this amazing place through API! Our resident directors act as your tour guides, support system and friends, and will give you a “local’s take” on the country’s best and most beautiful areas.
