The opportunity to teach English abroad is priceless, and this morning we’ve got an amazing opportunity to tell you about! API is currently offering TEFL/ESL Certified English Teachers fully-funded volunteer positions in Costa Rica. The Costa Rican government sponsors these positions. Teachers start out by committing to 30-hours per week for four months, but there are opportunities to extend!
Teacher Qualifications
- 21-50 years old
- Native English speaker
- University degree, preferably in Education or ESL/TESOL
- TEFL, CELTA degree or equivalent
- Teaching experience (6 months OR any experience with non-native English speakers)
- Experience volunteering in your local community or abroad
- A clean & current criminal background check
- A basic level of Spanish (more preferred)
- Commitment to at least 4 months in Costa Rica
- Patience, strong organizational skills, technologically savvy (have your own laptop)
- The desire to strongly impact the lives of young, at-risk Costa Rican young adults
