One of the things study abroad students always mention about their experience is how living abroad for a brief time gives them new perspective on their home communities. Although API does offer some wonderful options to volunteer abroad, you can also pitch in and lend a helping hand in your community without ever leaving home!

We also recommend using a web search engine to look up “Day of Service 2017 (your city)” to find local opportunities. Keep in mind many organizations may offer special volunteer opportunities on Saturday, two days prior to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
